BucketRider Gallery showcases some of the freshest art on it's walls every month. With a new space and a (new) site with custom content management and some super-cool new features, they'll go far!

Digital Web was running on a rapidly aging content management system. The need to quickly add new features and fix new issues was solved by developing and deploying an all new system while using the existing (quite large) database.

Our good buddy Jon Gitelson kept losing his apartment's garbage cans to theft. Check out the thegarbagecanproject.com for his wonderfully humorous new project dedicated to the whereabouts of his cans... its updated daily with new photographs and videos!

When the lawyers get involved Monday July 23, 2007

I was reading Ask the wizard, written by Dick Costolo (of FeedBurner fame…and from our very own Chicago, IL!) and he mentioned the purchase of Marc Andreesen’s company, Opsware by HP for $1.6bil. When I went over and read Marc’s blog, I noticed the small type at the bottom of his entry.

I found the bottom text on that entry hilarious, ridiculous, and frightening. I hope to never be involved in deals such as those Marc seems to revel in, as that sort of muck raker-y would be forced on me, as well.

Last week I received an email from someone looking for advice and an estimate of time and money needed to get some work done on a project. In his email, did I find an NDA I had to sign? No. I found this:

*disclaimer: By opening and reading these files, I am assuming you agree to my ownership of the contents of the files, as well as the concepts, and agree to confidentiality and non-compete, whether or not you are selected for the project.

Wonderful! Hardly any legalese in sight. I only wish we (everyone) could work like this. Connections and communication rather than legalese and threats. A somewhat utopian dream, I know.
